Tour itinerary:
Day 01: Malang or Surabaya to Ijen crater hotel
Start from airport, train’s station or hotel either in Malang or Surabaya (kindly inform us where we have to meet you), and our staff will meet you then escort you to the small town of Banyuwangi where is Ijen crater located. The journey takes approximately 7-9 hours by private car with air conditioned and we are possible to stop en route at local restaurant on the beach front of Pasir Putih for having lunch. On this trip, you will pass rural landscape, small city, plantations, rainforest and beaches. Upon your arrival Banyuwangi, you will stay overnight at Ketapang Indah Hotel or similar hotel before enjoy Ijen crater trekking on the next morning.
Day 02: Ijen tour then drive back to Malang or Surabaya
Around at 01:30 midnight meet with our staff at the lobby of your hotel , And leave the hotel to reach the post of Paltuding by passing through rice fields, plantations and rainforest. This is one of the few remaining rain forest in Java Island with giant ferns, plants of rain forest and big trees. This journey takes approximately 1 hour from your hotel by private car. Post Paltuding is well known as post 1 (base camp) or starting point for Ijen expedition tour and climbing or trekking tour activities on the slope of Mount Ijen.
Arrive at parking lot of Paltuding, and then approximately 2 until 2.5 hours will do ascending Mount Ijen to reach peak of Ijen crater ( it is depend on the your condition) and along the path, you will enjoy the stunning natural scenery with fresh air and shady. Resting on the edge of the crater at an altitude of 2883 meters and enjoy best panorama of the lake of sulfate where reflects spectacular view in the surrounding walls to give the impression like doom. The sulfur mining workers go down into the crater and climb back up by passing dangerous path on the edge of Ijen crater with the load as much as 80 kilograms on their shoulders. This is really a dangerous and hard job. Here also, you will enjoy the beautiful scenery in the crater of Ijen as one of God’s amazing creation. Do not forget to take pictures in this area as a proof that you have visited one of the most amazing places on earth.
After enjoyed the natural scenery at Ijen crater and then you will descend the slope of Mount Ijen until vehicles parking area where our vehicle is waiting to escort you back to your hotel for breakfast, take shower and preparation for check-out process from the hotel and then around at 10.00 or by the latest at 12.00, we will continue our trip to reach back either to Surabaya or Malang for about 8-9 hours driving by a private car. On the road to reach Surabaya or Malang, you will pass rural landscape, rice fields, small cities and beaches and then Tour package from Malang or Surabaya for Ijen expedition trip has finished
* If it is allowed by Ijen officer to do night climbing and the weather is good, you can do the blue fire tours in Ijen crater for seeing blue fire, but we will be started from your accommodation around at 00.30 am. Continue to read....
* If your trip will finish at airport either in Malang or Surabaya, you are required to take flight which will leave from Malang or Surabaya after at 19:00 pm
