4D3N East Java Adventure: Ijen Crater, Kalibaru Plantation & Mount Bromo Tours

Discover the natural wonders of East Java with our comprehensive 4-day tour package. Starting from either Malang or Surabaya, this journey takes you to the mesmerizing Ijen Blue Fire, the lush eco-plantations of Kalibaru, and the iconic sunrise at Mount Bromo.

Tour Itinerary :

Day 01: Arrival in Malang/Surabaya – Drive to Banyuwangi

Our team will meet you at the airport, train station, or your hotel in Malang or Surabaya. We will then escort you on a 7-8 hour scenic drive to the Banyuwangi regency. Along the way, we can stop for lunch at a local restaurant while enjoying views of rural landscapes, coastal beaches, and tropical rainforests. Upon arrival, check in at Ketapang Indah Hotel (or similar) to rest before your trek.

Day 02: Ijen Crater Trekking – Kalibaru Highland Eco-Tour

• Ijen Crater Expedition: We depart at 04:00 AM (or earlier for the Blue Fire option) to Paltuding, the base camp of Mount Ijen. The 1.5-hour trek to the summit offers fresh mountain air and stunning scenery. At the top (2,883m), witness the spectacular turquoise sulfur lake and observe the hardworking sulfur miners.

• Kalibaru Plantation Tour: After descending, we drive 2 hours to the Kalibaru Highlands. Explore a 9-hectare plantation filled with nutmeg, pepper, cinnamon, cocoa, coffee, and cloves. You can also witness the traditional process of making palm sugar.

• Transfer to Bromo: We continue the journey (5-7 hours) to the Bromo area. Stay overnight at Lava View Lodge, Java Banana, or a similar hotel near the Tengger caldera.

Day 03: Bromo Sunrise Spectacular – Surabaya? 

• 03:30 AM: A 4WD Jeep will pick you up for the Bromo sunrise tour. We head to the best viewpoints, such as Mount Penanjakan, King Kong Hill, or Love Hill, to see the sun rise over Mount Bromo, Mount Batok, and the smoking Mount Semeru.

• Bromo Crater: After the sunrise, the Jeep crosses the "Sea of Sand." You can walk or take a horse ride (optional) to the base of Bromo and climb the 250 stairs to the crater rim.

• Back to Surabaya: Return to the hotel for breakfast and a shower. Around 11:00 AM, we depart for Surabaya (3-4 hours drive). Optional stop: If time and weather permit, you may visit the majestic Madakaripura Waterfall.

Day 04: Surabaya Hotel – Airport Transfer

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast and free time at your hotel. At the scheduled time, our staff will transfer you to Surabaya Airport for your flight to your next destination. Your East Java adventure officially concludes.

~ Cost for a tour guide with speaking English (it is depend on your reservation for this trip)
~ 1 night stay in Ijen Crater area with breakfast (if you choose one of the hotels list from our website)
~ 1 night stay in Bromo area with breakfast (if you choose one of the hotels list from our website)

Price is not included:
~ Entrance tickets in Ijen Crater & Bromo 
~ Horse riding at cross seas sand of Bromo (it is optional)
~ Travel insurance, Bar, Laundry, Phone call, Internet, Tipping & other personal cost
~ Cost for overnight stay in Surabaya on the last night of the trip (please book the hotel by yourself)
~ Cost for optional tour program & meals (lunch, dinner) during the trip

Entrance tickets: You are required to pay entrance tickets during your trip by yourself and please show your id card. Cost for entrance tickets are mentioned below:
~ Ticket in Ijen Crater is IDR. 100.000 per person on working days & IDR. 150.000 per person on public holidays 
~ Ticket in Bromo is IDR. 227.000 per person on working days & IDR. 327.000 per person on public holidays
(Note: Indonesian citizen will get cheaper cost for entrance ticket as a local people)

What items you should bring: Comfortable shoes for trekking, warm clothes, simple mask & flashlights
