Tour Itinerary

Day 01: Evening Transfer from Probolinggo or Bromo Area to Ijen Crater – Finish Banyuwangi

Around 18:00–19:00 PM, our driver will pick you up from Probolinggo, Pasuruan, or Mount Bromo area. After meeting service, we will continue the trip to Banyuwangi for approximately 5–7 hours driving by private air-conditioned vehicle.

During the journey, you may stop for dinner, coffee break, or public toilet along the route before arriving at Paltuding Base Camp, the main starting point for Ijen Crater trekking activities.

Upon arrival at Paltuding, we will prepare trekking equipment such as:

Gas mask
Flashlight/headlamp
Trekking preparation

Ijen Blue Fire Trekking Experience

The trekking to Mount Ijen usually takes around 1.5–2.5 hours depending on your stamina and weather conditions. If weather conditions are clear, you may also witness the Milky Way above Mount Ijen before reaching the crater rim.

From the top of Ijen, visitors can descend carefully to the crater area to witness the world-famous blue fire phenomenon. This natural blue flame appears from sulfuric gas combustion and can only be seen before sunrise. Besides the blue fire attraction, visitors will also see:

Active sulfur miners
Turquoise sulfur lake
Sunrise panorama from the crater rim
Volcanic landscapes of East Java

The crater lake of Ijen is considered one of the most acidic lakes in the world and becomes one of the most iconic volcanic destinations in Indonesia.

Sunrise at Mount Ijen

After enjoying the blue flame tour, we will return to the crater rim to wait for sunrise.

The sunrise at Mount Ijen offers spectacular scenery with golden light reflecting on the sulfur lake and surrounding mountains. Visitors can also observe traditional sulfur miners carrying sulfur loads through steep volcanic paths. This unique landscape makes Ijen Crater one of the best volcano trekking destinations in Indonesia.

Return to Banyuwangi

Around 07:00 AM, we will descend back to Paltuding Base Camp through the same trekking route. Our driver will then transfer you to:

Ketapang Ferry Port
Banyuwangi Train Station
Banyuwangi Airport
Bus terminal

The tour service will finish after drop-off in Banyuwangi area.

Important Notes : If weather conditions are not safe or night trekking is not permitted by the Ijen authorities, the tour will continue with standard sunrise trekking without blue fire viewing.
