Enjoy one of the most favorite Java Bali holiday tour packages in 4 days starting from Bali to explore the natural wonders of East Java. This tour will take you to visit the spectacular Kawah Ijen for the blue fire phenomenon, trekking adventure at Air Terjun Tumpak Sewu, and witnessing the unforgettable sunrise at Gunung Bromo.

This overland trip will finish in Malang or Surabaya, with optional additional tours available during your journey with our professional and reliable team.
 

Your itinerary

Day 01: Bali trip to Banyuwangi for Ijen area stay

Our driver will pick you up either at the airport or your hotel in Bali (please inform your flight details or hotel location). Then we will start your trip to Gilimanuk ferry port in West Bali for about 3–5 hours driving (depending on traffic conditions) using a private air-conditioned car.

Upon arrival at Gilimanuk ferry port, you will cross the Bali Strait for approximately 1–1.5 hours by ferry to Ketapang ferry port in Banyuwangi (East Java). Along the way, you will enjoy views of plantations, rice fields, beaches, and rural landscapes.

After arriving in Banyuwangi, we will escort you directly to your hotel in Ijen area for rest, dinner, and overnight stay before the Ijen tour.

Day 02: Ijen Blue Fire tour, then Tumpak Sewu stay

Around 00.30 – 01.00 AM, our team will pick you up from your hotel and drive to Paltuding (Ijen basecamp) for about 1–1.5 hours.

02.00 – 06.00: Hiking to the summit of Mount Ijen to witness:

• Blue fire phenomenon
• Milky Way (weather permitting)
• Sunrise view
• Turquoise sulfur lake

If allowed, you will descend to the crater rim for a closer look at the blue fire.

After finishing the hike, return to the parking area and continue the journey to Tumpak Sewu area for about 7–9 hours drive (with stops for meals and rest).

Overnight stay at homestay near Tumpak Sewu.

Note: If blue fire access is closed, the hike will start at 02.30 AM without descending to the crater.

Day 03: Tumpak Sewu waterfall tour and Bromo stay

08.00 – 12.00: After breakfast, start trekking to Tumpak Sewu Waterfall.

• Trekking duration: 30–45 minutes
• Activities: descending cliffs, river crossing, exploration
• Enjoy one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Indonesia

Tumpak Sewu, also known as Coban Sewu, has a height of ±120 meters and is fed by Mount Semeru water flow.

12.00 – 17.00: Continue the trip to Bromo area (4–5 hours drive).
Check-in hotel and rest before sunrise tour.
 

Day 04: Bromo sunrise tour and transfer to Malang / Surabaya

Early morning at 03.30 AM, take a jeep tour to the sunrise viewpoint in Bromo area. Best viewpoints include :

• Mount Penanjakan
• King Kong Hill
• Love Hill

Enjoy the golden sunrise with Mount Bromo and Mount Semeru as background. Continue to:

• Sea of Sand
• Bromo crater (via 250+ stairs or horse riding optional)

08.00 – 10.00: Return to hotel for breakfast and rest

10.00 – 14.00: Transfer to Malang or Surabaya (end of tour)
